The KERN MICRO machine is the successor to the original bench top machine, in that the "C" frame casting is still evident but now filled with and placed on a polymer concrete base to eliminate vibration and improve surface finish.
A number of different spindles (up to 160,000 rpm) are available but the most common today is the "PRECISE" vector controlled spindle with speeds between 500 and 50,000 rpm. A 20 station tool magazine is available together with 4 and 4th/5th axis tables.
A BLUM laser tool measuring system assists the tool length setting especially on small diameter tools, while a RENISHAW or M&H component probing system finds the workpiece co-ordinates.
A compact and user friendly machine enhanced with a HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530 control system ensures its easy integration in to prototype or small batch producing environments.
Accuracy on the workpiece ±2.5 micron
