For rough machining the NEW HRRS four flute corner radius endmills with a diameter range from 2 to 12 mm are available with UNION TOOLS’ own HARD MAX coating for machining steels up to 65 HRC. The base material is a super micro grain carbide and has a shank tolerance of five micron.

The number of permutations available in UNION TOOLS range of corner radius cutters is phenomenal with not only choices of diameters with different clearance lengths but also choices of size of corner radius. In particular the HLRS range has an impressive 245 tools covering diameters between 0.2 and 6 mm. A good example is a 1 mm diameter tool which has 3 sizes of corner radius (R0.1, R0.2 and R0.3 mm) and 11 different clearance lengths (2 to 20 mm) in each radius range, making a total of 33 tools at 1 mm diameter.

For 2008 the HLRS range increased with the addition of 22 new tools and in particular the range now starts at 0.2 mm diameter with a .05 mm corner radius.
